making and maturing disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world

Bible Text: Luke 9: 57-62 | Preacher: Rev. Susan Brown | Series: Fan or Follower? | REFLECTION FOR THE WEEK

Fan or Follower: Don’t Look Back
Luke 9: 57-62

Jesus tells us that being a follower takes us out of our comfort zone. Leaving behind our preferences is required for committed discipleship.

Action: Allow yourself to be uncomfortable for Christ this week.  Greet a stranger. Tell someone about your church. Invite someone to the Hog Roast and Trunk or Treat. Offer to pray for someone who can use a comforting word.

Prayer: O God our protector, Guide us by day and teach us by night, be near us so that nothing can shake us, make us always aware of your presence, show us the path that leads to life, let your Spirit fill us with joy, and let your service be our delight forever. Amen.
